Oh darlin', do you hear the curlew callin'?
Oh darlin', do you hear the rain fallin'?
Down Down Down to the River
Oh darlin', feel the women cryin'
Oh darlin', streams of tears are a flowin'
Down Down Down to the River
So walk with me under the grey weepin’ skies
And together, we will follow, where the great eagle flies
Gather your bones, the moss and hearth stones
And together, feed our bodies, to the water fed thrones
So lay me down in the River
Lay me down in the River
Oh darlin' do you hear the Black Kite callin'?
Oh darlin' do you hear the storm rollin'?
Down Down Down to the River
Oh darlin', see the old men bawlin'
Oh darlin', their red rose blood is a crawlin'
Down Down Down to the River
Oh! Take me
Oh! Take me
Oh! Wash me
Oh! Wash me
Down Down Down to the River
So lay me down in the River
Dreamed through at a time when many threads of grief were weaving their way through my days 2024
